Each year, area artists are invited by Philagrafika to work with master printers at area print shops to produce original, limited edition prints. The emphasis is on the collaboration between the artist and the master printer. Produced annually since 2001, the Portfolio is an ongoing record of Philadelphia’s rich and innovative contemporary art scene. To date, the program has brought substantial exposure to the artists and print shops who have participated. Many of the artists had their first exposure to printmaking through this program, and have gone on to create prints independently. The portfolios and prints are in the collections of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Free Library of Philadelphia and the New York Public Library, and numerous private collections. Philagrafika staff manages the program and organizes promotion, sales, and exhibitions. The Portfolios are published in the fall. The 2008 portfolio artists are:


Artists interested in receiving an invitation to apply for the 2009 Invitational Portfolio:
The Portfolio program will be on hiatus in 2009 so that the organization can focus primarily on the the planning and implementation of Philagrafika 2010. The Portfolio program will continue in 2011. Framing is Available for Your Purchased Prints!
Prints are available for sale both framed and unframed. The basic framing package includes the print floated on acid-free, white 4 ply matte board within a black gallery frame, under conservation glass. All materials are archival. Other limited framing options are available, please inquire. Framing requires two-weeks, otherwise a rush charge may apply. Framing by Trinity Picture Framing, thanks Trinity!
